Dian Fossey in the Mist

I have wanted to observe the gorillas of Rwanda ever since I saw the 1978 movie Gorillas in the Mist with Sigourney Weaver. In preparation for our visit I read Dian Fossey's  original book again. It is a fascinating account of her experience and gave so much more insight into our trek than just the brief orientation the rangers and guides gave. I highly recommend reading it before you go on a gorilla trek.

Dian Fossey's work still carries on through the Karisoke Research Center in Volcanoes National Park under the auspices of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International.
