One year later

It has been a year since Nelson Mandela's passing, and the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory was open to visitors for 10 days in tribute. I spent a couple of days and nights there last year during the 10 days of mourning.

We stopped by again this year to pay our respects and see the displays depicting last year's events surrounding Madiba's public mourning and private funeral.

This was a photograph taken on the parade route for the daily drive to and from the hospital and the Union Buildings in Pretoria where Nelson Mandela's body lay in state for the thousands of visitors who lined up to pay their respects.

Also on display were the gun carriage and gun tractor used to transport his body to his final resting place in Qunu.

Rest in peace.
