Mr. Special

Mr. Special is the dominant silverback in the Agashya gorilla group. He is very impressive!

















And he knows it!

For most of our hour it looked as if this was going to be our only view of Mr. Special. He climbed to the top of these trees and settled in for lunch.

But then finally - about 15 minutes - before I time with the gorillas was up, he came down and out into the open and put on quite a show. (The guides even let us stay an extra 15 minutes! Shhh!)

Until he was done with us and retreated inside.
