It is an extremely desolate and vast frontierland.
With not alot of fauna out and about during the day. Richtersveld for us was all about the flora.
Like the quiver trees which get their name from the practice by the San people of using the cut hollow branches as quivers for their arrows.

I do not believe I have ever seen Crayola flesh-colored flowers!
We drove our 4X4 off road and hiked over to the Orange River.
When the sun started to set, the park came to life briefly. We saw gemsbok and ostrich and all sorts of bird life.
And when the moon started to rise, we looked for a suitable place for our evening sundowners.
We found it!

Vince had pre-made a cast iron pot full of his famous chicken tikka masala the night before for tonight's dinner. All we needed to do was warm it up on the stove inside, make some jasmine rice ...
... and set the table outside.
Ric toasted the naan on the braai.
