... you can bring Chelsea to Mohammed. Or in this case, to Joburg.

I couldn't make it to the Royal Horticulture Society's Chelsea Flower Show this year what with the move and all, but Garden World Nursery and Garden Center brought the show to me. Not the whole thing of course. Just the award-winning South African entry for the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens! The design team recreated their exhibit for display at Garden World for the Annual Spring Festival.



The display commemorates Kirstenbosch's Centenary Year which just happens to coincide with the Chelsea Flower Show's 100th birthday as well. According to the Fact File, South Africa has entered the Chelsea Flower Show 38 times. The Kirstenbosch-South Africa Exhibit has won 33 Gold medals, 3 Silver-gilt Medals and 2 Silver medals as well as several special awards and distinctions!
