Bruuuuce!

Marilyn and I have been to several Bruce concerts together

Nearly three decades after Steve Van Zandt launched a protest against apartheid, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be performing in South Africa next year for the first time! And we have tickets! After a long-standing and concerted effort by fans to bring Bruce to South Africa, the Boss will play a couple of shows in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg early in 2014.

the old Giants Stadium

Bruce will perform with the E Street Band including Stevie Van Zandt who founded the Artists United Against Apartheid protest group in 1985. Van Zandt enlisted big names to join him in the hit song Sun City which slammed the apartheid government in South Africa. Dozens of performers took part, including Springsteen, Bono, Bob Dylan and the late Lou Reed.

Bring on your wrecking ball!

It will be especially sweet since these concerts form part of the Wrecking Ball tour which we saw begin in New Jersey before the old Giant Stadium was pulled down and replaced with the new MetLife Stadium.

Kinda like full circle.
