Eleventh Street

There is a teeny piece of real estate in Parkmore that makes up its "downtown." It is only about the length of a New York City block and stretches from our Veterinary Clinic's office to the Benmore Gardens shopping mall. If you blink, you might miss it. But Eleventh Street has become indispensable to our daily lives and deserves to be recognized, appreciated, even celebrated.

There are a number of shops and restaurants along the strip. The Thomas Maxwell Bistro (delicious), the Happy Feed Pet Store where we get our bird food, the Dehli Dharbar Indian restaurant (ditto delicious), the tapas bar Eatery JHB (ditto ditto delicious), Mo's Barber Shop where Vince gets his weekly razor cut and shave, an old-fashioned Hardware Store, an Art Supplies Store, a Thai Restaurant (which we haven't tried yet), a couple of Pizza Parlors (ditto), a Sushi and a Chinese Restaurant (ditto ditto) and a Liquor Store.

There is a Shell gas station and an Auto Mechanics Shop which I unfortunately needed recently when my tire was going flat. There is a fresh vegetable and fruit market and a small flower market.  And several other little shops and restaurants I have yet to explore.

You can park on the street. (There are parking guards.) It is oh-so-close to where we live and you can just pop in without all the muss and fuss of parking at a mall and trying to remember where in the lot you parked after shopping.

That's it. I am happy you are there, Eleventh Street.
