The Latest Market Du Jour ... the Sandton Craft Market

We visited the latest in the explosion that is the market scene in and around Johannesburg these days, the Sandton Craft Market.

It is not really a new market. It is about half of the old Rosebank African Craft Market which relocated this weekend to its new digs at the nearby Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton. (The first floor of the Rosebank African Craft Market is still intact. For now.)

Like the old craft market, the Sandton Craft Market is open all week. Not just one or two days a week like the Bryanston Organic, Neighbourgoods, Fourways, Norwood, or new Finders Keepers Markets. That is very handy actually for last minute gifts.

I recognized many of the crafters from the old African Craft Market there. On Saturday mornings they sell prepared foods and provide entertainment too.

Joburg's market cup sure does runneth over.
