If you go to Tanzania, get used to filling out eight-part forms

Whether you self-drive or use a guide to take you into the Tanzanian National Parks and Conservation Areas, somebody has got to go up to a window and fill out some forms. Eight-part forms. By hand.

And don't forget your truck registration. You will need it.

And save all your receipts and paperwork. You will be asked to turn in one of the parts when exiting the park.
None of this is automated at the point of sale of course. Except amazingly the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You still have to fill out an eight-part form - no getting around that - but you also are also issued a smart card which you swipe when you enter and exit the Crater gate.

And probably some poor schlub has to input all those forms into a computer at the end of the day.  Oy vey!
