Mist forest

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater highlands receive 800 to 1,200 millimeters (31 to 47 inches) of rain a year and are covered largely in a montane forest, a mist forest which gains most of its moisture from clouds and fog.

We were lucky to have such clear visibility on the day we drove down to the crater floor.

On an another day, this was the same view!
And the Rhino Lodge which sits on the crater's edge was completely shrouded in fog.
Driving around the crater in the fog is treacherous!

Look out!
